Welcome to Fairfield Glade, TN

This community is located on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee.  The elevation is 2,087 feet above sea level, giving us pleasant weather and clear air! Just 90 minutes from the Smokies, we are the highest point between the Smokies and the Rockies.  We enjoy four distinct seasons, with Spring and Fall the most beautiful.  Population of Fairfield Glade was nearly 7,000 in 2010 and I suspect we now number over 10,000 residents full time and part time.  In Fairfield Glade, over 80% of our residents are “from somewhere else”, having visited, toured the community and amenities, and making that decision to make this their home.       Happily we offer homes, town homes, and condos for any budget.  Add to that our low property tax, the fact that we have no income tax, AND a low cost of living - a true value in this economy.  We are partnered with Wyndham Timeshares, have several timeshare neighborhoods within our Glade; helping us to enjoy great amenities as members for less than $60 per month!      We are proud of our five championship golf courses, eleven lakes (no wake), community center, marinas, beaches, outdoor and indoor pools, racket center, outdoor venues for entertainment, health care and wellness center, town mall and numerous churches.  We have all you would need here in our community; and should you need more, we are 60 miles from Knoxville on Interstate Highway 40 E, 120 miles from Nashville on Interstaate Highway 40 W,  and about 90 miles from Chattanooga.       Give me a call, or email and we can arrange for a visit and tour!      Judy K. ONE OF OUR JEWELS This state park consists of 1,720 acres situated around Byrd Lake, a man-made lake created by the impoundment of Byrd Creek in the 1930s.  The park is set amidst an environmental microcosm of the  Cumberland Plateau and provides numerous recreational activities, including an 18-hole Bear Trace golf course. The park was deeded to the state of Tennessee in 1938. Alvin C. York served as the park’s superintendent until 1940, when he resigned to advise on the filming of “Sergeant York”. http://state.tn.us/environment/parks/CumberlandMtn/
